Thatcher 2022 Year in Review
This year has brought us so much change, joy, and most importantly; gratitude. We would like to reflect on 2022 by starting with a huge thank you to each and every one of our clients, design partners, and Thatcher family. We are proud to say that our clients are some of the most creative and inspiring people in the design industry, and we are honored to be able to work with them on beautiful projects every day.
Some highlights for us:
This year was monumental for us as we officially became a Climate Neutral Certified company. We want our actions to reflect our values and this has been one of our goals from the very beginning, reducing waste and impact on our natural environment without compromising quality and beauty.
We introduced a favorite, and completely one of a kind wallpaper - Mother - to our collection. This wallcovering has been a daydream of founder and designer Avery for years, and we couldn't be happier to see if come to life! Oh, and don't forget the addition of Form Pillows - they bring the party to any space.
And as you might have noticed, we look a little different as we head into 2023. Last spring we partnered with the amazing folks over at OMFGCO, and reimagined our brand as we moved into the second decade in business. The results speak for themselves (we love it!).

A step by step guide to creating a completely unique look for your space.
PICK YOUR PATTERN
Start by picking your favorite Thatcher wallpaper or tile design.
PICK YOUR COLORS
Email sales@thatcherstudio.com for our full palette of custom color options. For tiles, we have a set palette of colors to select from. For wallpaper, we can print in any existing Thatcher colorway, or Pantone color match to suit your needs.
VIEW YOUR PROJECT
After selecting colors, we will send you a digital mockup of your design. When you find the color combination that's perfect for your project, we produce a physical sample and ship it straight to your door.
CUSTOM PATTERNS
Interested in a completely unique pattern? We offer custom design and printing services in order to bring your vision to life. We can:
• Design a pattern for you or your client, based on your concept and vision, and produce your bespoke wallpaper or tile.
• Take a design that you have created, turn it into a repeating pattern suited to wallcovering or tile, and produce your custom product.
• Take an existing pattern that you have created and turn it into wallpaper or tile.
• Alter any of our existing designs to suit your space - scale, color, etc.
We Have A New Name: Juju Papers And Avery Thatcher Tile Are Now Thatcher
Hello, we’re Thatcher.
We’ve been up to a lot since our last update. With a new brand name, we’ve joined Juju Papers and Avery Thatcher Tile into one cohesive whole. Our design studio will continue to produce beautiful surfaces, coverings, and homewares with the same attention to detail and dedication to craftsmanship.
Here at Thatcher, sustainability continues to be fundamental to good design. That’s why we’re now a climate-neutral company. We partnered with Climate Neutral to offset 100% of our carbon emissions—from pre-production to fabrication to shipping until it gets to you. We believe responsible material sourcing and ethical manufacturing form a key chapter in any product’s story. Our efforts are focused on where we can make the biggest impact for our business and the planet.

This month we launched a wallcovering made from kaleidoscopic film. Originally designed for fishing lures, Mother is made from iridescent layers of foil that resemble mother of pearl—a material with a holographic finish capable of conjuring a spectrum of color. The resulting effect is a Chiaroscuro-like interplay of light and shadow that changes throughout the day.
Meet our founder, Avery Thatcher.
Juju Papers began when Avery started making hand-printed wallpapers out of a small Portland, Oregon studio in 2010. She quickly expanded into making tiles, with a focus on sustainability. Today, she designs beautiful coverings, surfaces, and homewares at Thatcher that celebrate the built environment and pioneer sustainable practices, focusing on progress each step of the way.

Juju Papers Presents: Waving Cement Tile
Juju Papers is proud to introduce Waving: Hand poured cement square tiles with undulating lines that create an optical illusion.
Made one at a time in Mexico, Waving’s stripes suggest perceptible motion, depending on the way they are laid out. When placed in directional stripe formation, the tiles billows like rippling curtains or fabric, or rising and falling surf. Arranged in alternating directions in checkerboard fashion, the pattern offers a three dimensional basket weave dancing on the tile surface.

Juju Papers Presents: Goldendale
Juju Papers presents: Goldendale, the newest offering of geometric, organic and luxurious wallpaper, made from local forest wood rubbings rendered in opulent metallics.
Goldendale is inspired by place - in this case, a unique part of Washington state's Columbia River Basin where the forest meets the grasslands. It is a flat, windy landscape until it meets the scrubby forest. The design evokes that meeting of natural worlds, represented by the juxtaposition of order (geometry) and asymmetry (wood texture). Printed with wood rubbings from fallen Ponderosa pine and western white oak, found along the banks of the river.
