Sealing Tile Prior to Grouting

Cement tiles are pre-sealed from the factory, but the material is porous. Therefore, a second round of sealer is necessary before grouting.

It is very important that a grout free of dyes is used, such as Mapei Flexcolor CQ. Grouts containing dyes will stain cement tile. We recommend doing a test on a single piece to see the results before applying grout to the complete area.

CEMENT TILE SEALER
Miracle Sealants 511 Porous Plus - a penetrating sealer designed for the protection of the most porous surfaces. Porous Plus should be chosen for clients who wish to keep the appearance of the tiles exactly as-is prior to installation.

Miracle Sealants 511 Enhance and Seal - a penetrating sealer designed for the protection of the most porous surfaces. Enhance and Seal is recommended for clients who wish to enhance or deepen the colors of the tiles.
